For our fourth day of the trip, we had no site visit planned, so the day was ours to explore, eat, and shop. We started the day as a group exploring the Castle of the Counts, which offered gorgeous views (despite the rainy weather) and rich history. After touring the castle, we were off to do some shopping around the city. We stopped in some thrift stores and local shops. One of the stores we checked out, ColorSpiced, featured beautiful handmade bags, jackets, pillows, jewelry, etc. Then, it was time for lunch! We ate at a restaurant called WASBAR, which not only had delicious bagel sandwiches, but also doubled as a laundromat! Immediately following lunch, we had the chance to meet with one of Dr Green's former students. We did a little more shopping after, finding souvenirs for ourselves and friends & family back home! Most stores around here close pretty early however, so we didn't have much luck in the evening. For dinner, we got to check out Gent Smaakt, which is an annual food truck festival and everything was so delicious! Overall, day 4 was a good one & we are so excited for our last day in Belgium (bittersweet!) and to travel to Paris!
